Messy Life

I think it's so easy to assume that a person's life is so perfect when sometimes we only see through a tiny window (social media). Everyone has their own struggles, their own battles their fighting.

The truth: I have a constant need for approval. I care way too much about what people think. I was bullied in middle school. I've been divorced. I had a child before I was married. I have a phobia of germs. I overthink this parenting stuff way too much. Am I being the best mommy I can be? I want to write a book but I'm too afraid of peoples' opinions. I put way too much pressure on myself. And since we're being honest, it took us probably 50x to get this picture. The wind was blowing my hair like crazy, my skirt kept blowing up but if I didn't just tell you that you'd think we just snapped this cute photo and life is so perfect. I'm here to tell you that it's okay to struggle. Life is messy and life is hard sometimes but know that God uses the messy for great things. Own your scars, there's someone going through something you've gone through and they need what you have. I hope you can be brave and bold in your messiness.

You, who made me stare trouble in the face, turn me around; Now let me look life in the face. I've been at the bottom; Bring me up, streaming with honors; turn to me, be tender to me, And I'll take up the lute and thank you to the tune of your faithfulness God.
Psalm 71:20-23
